A report is given on a very successful concert held on December 17th 1906 to raise funds for the Church Institute and on Christmas Eve by the Children’s Guild which Mrs Lane started in March 1906.

The Mapperley Flower Show took place on 22nd August and was a very successful event.
October 1908
On Wednesday 23rd September saw a visit to Shipley Hall by the Sunday School. Mrs Miller Mundy invited the teachers and the elder scholars to tea. The party numbered 50 in all and the beautiful gardens were fully explored. The swing and the revolving see-saw were an additional amusement. The splendid orchestra organ in the ballroom was listened to with pleasure. Tea was at 5pm and a sumptuous tea was set out for them in the servant’s hall with the house servants in attendance. At the end presents were set out and everyone invited to chose one.
December 1908
The Church Institute had an eventful day on November 14 when a new three-quarter size billiard table erected and fixed. The table arrived at West Hallam Station and the club were indebted to Mr S Durow, who kindly lent a horse, and to Mr Toplis of West Hallam who kindly lent his dray.
