A very interesting and insightful article written by Mrs Pauline Beale of West Hallam who was married to Mr David Beale formally of Stanley. Pauline and Dave had strong connections to Ron Richardson and Elaine at The Old Black Horse Mapperley. Mapperley being a mining village can very much relate to this article. Sadly, Dave is no longer with us having passed away suddenly 21 years ago but the memory of this lovely man lives on.
